Our Farm

Waikiwi Farm is a family farming business located in the North Waikato. Waikiwi’s primary goal is to maximize the net income from its revenue streams, while maintaining and enhancing its asset – the land. The farm is 490 ha total. Income is derived from three distinct streams; fattening bull beef, winter lamb finishing, and growing contract maize silage.

History

The Jefferis family originated from the Otago region in the South Island of New Zealand before moving north to the Waikato in 1875. The family settled in Waerenga and developed the property from native scrub and bush into grassland. Sheep and beef farming was the main income up until the early 1980's, when it was converted to bull beef finishing. The current family management commenced in 2001
